Gladstone Education, the leading provider of cashless catering solutions to 21st century schools, has been actively engaging with members of the Local Authority Catering Association since joining the organisation as a Partner six months ago.

Gladstone Education specialises in providing cashless catering, electronic registration and facilitating access control integration using smartcard and biometric-based technology, and is a key supplier to the UK Government's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative.

Gladstone Education commits to supporting BioStore v2 product platform

Gladstone Education, the leading provider of innovative software solutions to the education market, is pleased to announce that it has agreed a further long-term technology agreement with BioStore, the market specialist in the provision of Biometric technology for the education sector.
The strategic partnership agreement extends the current integration to include the provision of BioStore v2 solution support within the future releases of the OnRecord product suite.

Gladstone has successfully provided BioStore v1 integration since 2006 within its existing OnRecord product portfolio. In light of this proven integration, Gladstone Education has now chosen to embrace the BioStore v2 platform to provide secure and reliable authentication across the OnRecord product suite.

Gladstone's decision to integrate with the BioStore platform was due to its market penetration, technical infrastructure and wide range of third party support for other educational software applications.

Finding Users Manually on the EPOS

If a customer has forgotten their ID card, you may still serve them lunch at the EPOS by searching for their account manually.

Tap the Find button on the lower right of the EPOS screen

Then tap in the fist few letter of the customer's last name and tap the Find button
Double tap on the relevant user record to bring up the User Details screen, and process the sale as normal

Export Report Results into Excel

When generating reports in OnRecord, you will have the option to export the results into Microsoft Excel.

Once you have run the report, click on the Export to Excel button, normally found on the top-right of the report results page

The File Download dialogue box will be displayed
Click Open to open up the report in Excel

You can then manipulate the data as required and/or save the report.

Please Note: reports exported into Excel are generated as .csv files by default. To save a report as an Excel file, ensure that you save the file type as .xls

Changing Inventory Item Prices

If you need to update the prices for all of your inventory items at the start of a new school year, rather than going into each item individually to make your changes, this can be done quickly and easily for all items from the Manage Inventory Items page.

Under the Financial section, click the Inventory link.
Click on the Edit button.
Check the box in the top left hand cell to select all inventory items in the list.
Make your changes in the Price column for each inventory item
Finally, click on the Update All button to save your changes.
